Overview

DriveTrack is a logistics management platform designed for companies that coordinate vehicle collections, deliveries, and fleet movements.

Vehicle logistics operations are often managed using spreadsheets, messaging apps, and disconnected tools. As job volumes grow, maintaining oversight of drivers, vehicles, and billing becomes increasingly complex.

The project focused on designing and building a complete digital platform capable of managing the entire logistics workflow — from job allocation through to driver completion and invoicing — while also creating a public-facing website to introduce the product.

Challenges

Logistics operators typically face several operational challenges as they scale:

  • Job scheduling and driver coordination handled through spreadsheets.
  • Limited visibility of vehicle movements and job progress.
  • Driver communication spread across calls and messaging platforms.
  • Manual processes for inspections, signatures, and documentation.
  • Billing and invoicing handled separately from operational data.

The objective was to develop a platform that could centralise logistics operations, improve visibility, and provide scalable infrastructure for growing logistics teams.

Platform Architecture

DriveTrack was designed as a full software platform consisting of three key components:

  • A public marketing website
  • A multi-tenant web application for operators
  • Mobile applications for drivers

This architecture allows logistics companies to manage operations centrally while drivers interact with the system directly through a mobile app.

The platform is designed to support multiple logistics operators, each running their own independent environment within the same system.

Marketing Website

A dedicated marketing website was developed using Next.js to introduce the DriveTrack platform and explain its capabilities.

The site focuses on clearly communicating the value of the platform to logistics operators, outlining features such as:

  • Job management and dispatch
  • Driver mobile workflows
  • Vehicle inspection recording
  • Media uploads and digital signatures
  • Integrated billing and reporting

The website acts as the public entry point for the platform and supports ongoing product marketing.

Logistics Web Application

The core of DriveTrack is a multi-tenant web application designed for dispatch teams and administrators.

The system allows operators to:

  • Create and manage vehicle collection and delivery jobs
  • Assign work to drivers
  • Track job progress and completion status
  • Manage driver activity
  • Access operational reporting
  • Generate invoices based on completed work

Role-based access controls ensure different users can interact with the system appropriately depending on their responsibilities.

Driver Mobile Application

A companion mobile application was developed using React Native to support drivers working in the field.

The mobile app allows drivers to:

  • Receive assigned jobs
  • View collection and delivery details
  • Upload inspection photos and videos
  • Capture customer signatures
  • Update job progress in real time

This removes the need for paper forms and allows dispatch teams to monitor job progress as it happens.

Results

Following the launch of the platform:

  • Vehicle logistics operations moved from fragmented manual processes to a structured digital system.
  • Dispatch teams gained clear visibility over jobs, vehicles, and driver activity.
  • Drivers were able to manage their work through a dedicated mobile application.
  • Job tracking, inspection records, and invoicing became part of a single workflow.
  • The marketing website provides a clear introduction to the platform and supports future product growth.

DriveTrack now provides a scalable digital foundation for logistics operators managing vehicle movements across multiple drivers and locations.

Technology Stack
